and no one may access the Venetian hotel rooms without an active key, so this probably involved a guest in some way or another. Wynn/Encore is now implementing a similar system: "The [Wynn] properties will also scan all hotel room keys at elevator entrances so that only registered guests are admitted to the hotel towers."
