Default Las Vegas casino closures due to coronavirus

Looks like we made it out of there just in time, early March, before the madness erupted.

So far, MGM is closing all its buffets.

Wynn is even installing body temperature sensors at its entrances to detect and confront any potential guests who are running a fever.

The casinos, one by one, are closing all day and nightclubs, all spas, and even the fitness centers.

Some articles mention that casino workers are being laid off or placed on stand by, and this internal document from MGM Mirage corroborates that:

Or next Vegas trip is currently scheduled for early May. Let's see how things are by then.

In the meantime, we are not postponing our early April vacation to a tropical Paradise. We will be gone most of April.

Nothing to do with Vegas, but: Also, I talked to my mom on the phone she said she stopped by a health food grocery chain she frequents today, and it was stocked as always and no lines other than as usual. Granted this was a health food supermarket, and it was a better part of town, but still - no pandemonium by any means. She said she stopped by a Rite Aid store too - empty (of people, not consumer goods).

All of Vegas has been closed since mid-March, in fact all of gambling in Nevada has been shuttered since March 16, 2020. Unprecedented!
