Leonard Nimoy, Actor, Director, and Icon, Dies at 83

Star Trek and Spock meant and means a lot to some of us growing up. Even if we weren't the first to watch it, it seemed fresh to us with the reruns we saw in he 1970s. Star Trek was one of the first pieces of TV I saw, too, that scared me enough to be momentarily speechless, as I viewed the Salt Vampire of "The Man Trap" when I saw about eight years old. Yes, those were different times.

Star Trek was an escape to be sure, but then those are the best kinds of fiction.

Millions today still enjoy Star Trek and the new Spock in reiterated forms. Live long and Prosper!
