Resorts World Vegas grand opening June 2021

We were at the VIP "pre opening" which started at 7pm June 24, 2021. The VIP Event went until 11pm, when the casino commenced operations and the general public was allowed in.

Most everyone was dressed up and guests ranged from, among others, Nevada Governor Sisolak, Mark Davis and Elaine Wynn (I had met her before and talked to her a while, mostly reminding her that I had voted all my shares for her in 2015, to replace Steve as the head of Wynn - Elaine said, "Well, I am in charge now!" :D - also we took some pics with both the governor and the Raiders owner - my wife thought he wore a toupee but we explained no, that's just his hair and Davis is known for that unkempt 'do)), and various celebrities including some rappers like Usher and also Paris Hilton (makes sense that she and her mom Kathy were there - after all, one of the hotels at RW is a Hilton). Lot of high rollers I know from the tables were there.

We entered at the Crockford's entrance, which leads directly from the hotel lobby into the high limit Baccarat pit. In there we had appetizers like lobster tail and claws, giant prawns, and free drinks (most of the bars in that Crockford's casino and lounge area offered only Moet & Chandon champagne or Bombay Sapphire Gin, due to a promotional relationship with the resort).

Here are some random pics from the party. All restaurants were open and offering free samplings, and there were tons of different kinds of free drinks available all over the resort too (not just champagne, not just gin). The free food and drink went on during the VIP portion of the opening.

Of course MDawg had to visit the Dawg House, another RW dining establishment where free food and drink were being handed out.

There were some retail stores open, although many spots designated for stores were unfinished and empty.

In fact, this was a SOFT opening with many places not yet open or finished until December 2021, with 100% completion slated for 2022.

Here is a corner of the upstairs representative of unfinished, unpainted drywall, that was throughout the resort, if you looked closely.

Not sure what the Rolls Royce connection was. Will there be a Rolls dealership at RW, the way there once was a Ferrari one at Wynn?

These were taken from the Fifth Floor VIP Pool party, where first Paris Hilton and then Tiesto DJ'ed. Tiesto is apparently moving to Vegas and will become resident DJ for RW.

There were a couple of hired by RW people in the pool inside floaties, although some guests took off their shoes and waded right in too.

and on the way out, now fully open, the high limit Baccarat area (called, the Crockford's Casino and Lounge). The entire casino was busy by after midnight, when we left. I didn't play even though I am already set up with a line, to play. I don't like playing when it is that crowded.

By the way, almost no one was masked. We took our masks off too, at least during the VIP party period. As the general public streamed in, and we left the VIP pool event, we put our masks back on.

One thing about that Crockford's Baccarat high limit room - it's big, and given that many Asians smoke like chimneys, I fear that the entire room will be smoke filled.

Speaking of smoking, they were handing out cigars to a few of us anyway, during the VIP Event. I don't even smoke, but I accepted one. For luck?
