Masks will be mandatory at Vegas casinos at table games

Although Baccarat is not mentioned specifically (blackjack, roulette, craps, poker are mentioned), Masks will now be required for all players where there is no plexiglass barrier between players and the dealers:

�Licensees must require patrons to wear face coverings at table and card games if there is no barrier, partition or shield between the dealer and each player,� the new guidance said. �This requirement applies to table and card game players, spectators and any other person within 6 feet of any table or card game.�

Given the choice between a mask and a plexiglass barrier, I suppose I'd rather wear a mask. The images I've seen at least at Baccarat tables show a small slot through which the cards are dealt. We are still allowed to handle the cards in midi-Baccarat. I'd probably end up cutting the top of my hand on plexiglass every time I slammed the winning hands down. Or I'd have to reduce myself to snapping the winning cards down feebly within the confines of that slot.

People don't seem to mind.

Andrew Payne came to Las Vegas for a bachelor party.

"The guy is marrying my sister," said the 33-year-old firefighter from Havertown, Pennsylvania.
He sat in The Excalibur lobby with a bottle of Miller Lite, waiting for the groom and the rest of the party to show up. He wore Philadelphia Phillies baseball cap and a custom Phillies face mask.

"It is what it is," he said about the mask mandate. "I'd rather be here than not be here."

Wearing a mask might be a hassle to some, but Payne doesn't mind.

"I get it. I have three kids at home," he said.
