Donald Trump 'posed as own spokesman' in business dealings - BBC News (http://www.bbc.com/news/election-us-2016-36289239)
pretty much conceding it back then, and now spontaneously lying about it.

You gotta question a guy whose first impulse is to lie, when challenged. There’s really a lot wrong with this guy at a deep core. Maybe he was molested as a child, or at least bullied. He seems to have a lot to prove. These sorts of insecurities appeal to the Appalachians who follow him, many of whom also were abused, bullied and made to feel inadequate during their lives.

Looks like Trump isn't the only one accused of destroying emails
Trump was accused of destroying email evidence in lawsuit 10 years ago (http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/elections/2016/06/13/trump-accused-destroying-email-evidence-lawsuit-10-years-ago-republican-hillary-president/85795082/?campaign_id=A100&campaign_type=Email)

It makes perfect sense that Trump would have done everything crooked under the sun. This fits with his demeanor and actions in business.
